👋 Hey there, kids! Today we're going to learn how to make a 🚀 fun and easy popsicle catapult! With just a few materials and some creativity, you can build your own catapult and launch objects into the air. This is a great activity to do with friends or family, and you can even use it to protect your 🎒 Little Monster Backpacks from any mischievous critters that might come your way!

🧰 Materials you will need:

  • Popsicle sticks (around 10-15) 🍡
  • Rubber bands (at least 3) 🟢
  • Plastic spoon 🥄
  • Small object to launch (such as a marshmallow or pom pom) 🎉

👨‍🔧 Steps involved:

  1. Take two popsicle sticks and place them parallel to each other, about an inch apart.
  2. Take another popsicle stick and place it perpendicular to the first two sticks, about a third of the way up from the bottom.
  3. Use a rubber band to wrap around the three sticks at the point where they meet. This will hold them together.
  4. Repeat steps 1-3 to create a second set of sticks.
  5. Take the two sets of sticks and place them parallel to each other, about 3 inches apart.
  6. Use rubber bands to connect the two sets of sticks at the top and bottom, forming a rectangle.
  7. Take the plastic spoon and attach it to the popsicle stick on one end of the rectangle using a rubber band. Make sure the spoon is facing upward.
  8. Load your small object (marshmallow, pom pom, etc.) into the spoon.
  9. Hold the catapult with one hand and use the other hand to press down on the spoon, pulling the rubber band back as far as it will go.
  10. Release the spoon to launch your object! 🚀

And that's it! You can experiment with different angles and amounts of tension in the rubber bands to see how far you can launch your object. Have fun and don't forget to keep your 🎒 Little Monster Backpacks close by! 🦸‍♀️
